Requirements
Grade 12 plus equivalent qualification as per NQF level 4. The candidate must hold a certificate in Diesel or Petrol Mechanic recognized by the Department of Higher Education and Training. Trade test certificates in terms of Manpower Training Act (Section 13 or 28). 2 to 3 years’ working experience in the field of mechanics. Self-motivated, independent, and reliable with a strong work ethic. Excellent active listening, problem solving and communication skills. Proficiency with hand tools and other equipment.

DutiesS
Perform vehicle assessments and alert clients on issues that will prohibit their vehicles from passing inspection. Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users. Assemble mechanical components according to specifications. Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems. Performing test drivers, inspections, and other diagnostic tests on a vehicle to identify where problems exist and determined which parts need to be repaired or replaced. Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.

Requirements
Basic Literacy/ Grade 10. Candidate must have minimum of 1 -2-year heavy duty driving experience. Candidate be in possession of valid south African driver’s license (EC) plus a PDP.
Competencies
Candidate must know how to operate Heavy – Duty Machinery/ Equipment. Must always keep machine clean and tidy. The candidate must perform and execute the responsibilities as expected all time. Required to work in all weather conditions, good problem-solving abilities. Must have good communication skills. Be responsible, reliable and work independently. Continuously improves own driving behavior and keeps up with with changing traffic laws.
Duties
Safely operates a special motor vehicle in public traffic system. Be able to follow written instructions. Be able to perform safety inspections, recognize and report mechanical problems and perform preventative maintenance, be able to work under pressure and follow the supervisors’ instructions. Make safe driving decisions and operate a vehicle with no restrictions.
