PUBLIC NOTICE: INTRODUCTION OF THE SMART METER MOBILE APP

Smart meter Prepaid App Manual_rev1

Setsoto Local Municipality is pleased to announce the introduction of the Smart Meter Mobile App, designed to provide customers with greater convenience and easy access to their smart meter information.

The Smart Meter App enables customers to conveniently access the following information directly from their mobile phones:

  • Current meter balance
  • Electricity consumption information
  • Purchase and transaction history

Customers are encouraged to refer to the attached user manual, which provides step-by-step guidance on how to download, activate, and use the Smart Meter App.

Customer Assistance

Customers who experience difficulties with downloading, activating, or using the Smart Meter App are encouraged to contact the Municipality for assistance. Support will be available through walk-in assistance at the relevant municipal offices and via the Call Centre.

Important Notice

Please note that the Smart Meter App is optional. Customers are not required to download or use the App for the normal operation or functionality of their smart electricity meter. The smart meter will continue to operate normally regardless of whether the customer uses the App.

We encourage customers to make use of the Smart Meter App as an additional convenient tool to monitor their electricity usage, balances, and purchases.

COMPETENCIES: Candidates must always be punctual in the workplace. Be able to work with other team members. Be able to report any damage and communicate well with others. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team. Candidates must be physically fit and healthy, as well as able to work after normal working hours and during planned hours.

DUTIES: Refuse removal from households/businesses, industries/streets, clearing
Business area in the Setsoto Municipality. Assist the driver with the cleaning and /or maintenance of the vehicles/equipment.

Community Liaison Officer (Clo): Rehabilitation Of 1,4km Surface Road In Ficksburg/Meqheleng

Setsoto Local Municipality will be implementing a project to Rehabilitation of 1,4kM Surface Road in Ficksburg/Meqheleng during the financial year 2026/2027. The contractor JTZ Family Trading Enterprise is currently looking for a suitable CLO with the requirements as stipulated below:

POST:  COMMUNITY LIAISON OFFICER (CLO)

SALARY :  R5 500 per month (for the duration of the construction contract)

UNIT : Ficksburg/Meqheleng

JOB PURPOSE :  The primary purpose of the job is to ensure that the local community gets maximum benefit from this construction contract through  access to labour      (skilled,  semi-skilled  and  unskilled)  and subcontracting. The CLO must also act as a liaison officer for the contractor, to facilitate information flow to the community and other stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS :        • Must be a residence of Ficksburg/Meqheleng with a Valid South African Identity

  • Grade 12 certificate with basic computer literacy.
  • Must be able to communicate, read and write in English and Sesotho.
  • Must be reliable and accountable & currently unemployed.
  • Must know the area of Ficksburg/Meqheleng thoroughly.
  • Preferably be a resident of Ficksburg/Meqheleng
  • Should be prepared to work under difficult conditions and have skills in conflict resolution.
  • Should have an understanding of construction and be able to communicate with contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Should not be a contractor.
  • Willingness to spend extended periods in the field and work irregular hours.

DUTIES  :        • Liaison between the community and the contractor.

  • Liaison between the Municipality, the Community and the Contractor.
  • Responsible to provide a link between local resources and the contractor.
  • Make reference to database of local resources.
  • Keep the contractor and the Municipality aware of community affairs and possible dynamics.
  • Assist the contractor’s supervisory staff in the management of workers.
  • Report monthly to the Municipality, and the community structures with respect to local involvement targeting, training and the equity status of employees.
  • Complete the necessary administrative tasks related to implementation of projects.
